OXFORD, Miss. - Ed Glass, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound guard from St. Louis, Mo., has signed a national letter of intent to attend Ole Miss beginning in the fall of 2003, Rebel head coach Rod Barnes announced Thursday. Glass is a junior college transfer from Kaskaskia Community College in Centralia, Ill.

Glass is the first signee for the Rebels in the late signing period, which began April 16 and runs through May 15. Glass joins Byron Burnett and Bam Doyne as members of Ole Miss' 2003 signing class. Burnett and Doyne signed with the Rebels during the early signing period in November.

"I'm excited to have Ed become a part of our program," said Barnes, who has a 100-61 record in five seasons at Ole Miss. "Ed will bring experience and maturity at our point guard position. Ed is a solid player and a solid person, and we believe he will be a great leader. With his size and strength, Ed has shown he is a durable player because he hasn't missed a start in junior college career.

"Ed has been well coached by Randy Carter at Jennings High School in St. Louis and John Cooksey at Kaskaskia Community College. We feel that signing Ed was very important for our success next year."

In his two seasons with the Blue Devils, Glass never missed a start in 61-straight games. As a sophomore in 2002-03, the point guard averaged 15.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists. Kaskaskia finished the year with a 14-16 record.

The Rebels completed the 2002-03 campaign with a 14-15 overall mark.
