Dear Kayla,
What’s up, stud? Girl, you are rocking those shiny, blue spandex, turtle shell kneepads and skids. Hate to break it to you, but skids are going to be going out of style very soon. That’s alright, though: big frilly hair scrunchies are next in line.
Be grateful. Very few people will be able to experience what you are going to experience. The moments, things and memories that playing a sport will provide you with are invaluable.
Jokes aside, I know how much you love volleyball. It’s your number one passion in life. HANG ON TO THAT. The path you’re going down, things are about to get hard (in a good way). In order to accomplish amazing things, you have to overcome challenging obstacles, and trust me, there are incredible things waiting for you in the future. There is no ceiling for you. Your biggest goals are absolutely possible if you keep working hard every day.
Be grateful. Very few people will be able to experience what you are going to experience. The moments, things and memories that playing a sport will provide you with are invaluable. Appreciate everything you have and will have. Embrace every moment. It’s going to go by fast. But most importantly, keep dreaming big!
