Cliff McCain now serves as Assistant Director for Academic Enrichment after joining Ole Miss as a Learning Specialist in February 2014. Along with a caseload of student-athletes, he is the coordinator for the academic mentoring program for student-athletes. In addition, he heads the interviewing process for tutors at the FedEx Student-Athlete Success Center. Additionally, he has served as an EDHE instructor in the Office of Freshman Year Experience.
McCain came to Ole Miss with over 20 years of experience in education. On the secondary level, he has served as an administrator, instructor and coach at several schools in Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. He began his career on the collegiate level at Delta State University first as a graduate assistant coach and then as the administrative assistant and academic coordinator for the football team. In addition, he was a classroom adjunct history instructor at Holmes Community College and continues to teach online at various institutions.
Cliff holds a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Higher Education from the University of Mississippi. He has master's degrees in Educational Administration and History, as well as bachelor's degrees in Insurance and Real Estate from Delta State University. McCain is a member Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and was selected University of Mississippi Who’s Who of Students . McCain holds AAAA teacher certification in the state of Mississippi.
Cliff, a native of Drew, Mississippi, enjoys writing for different publications and resides in Oxford with his wife, Laura. They have three children - Jack Willis, Haley Middlebrook, and Hannah Wilson, as well as seven grandchildren.
