Shortall Falls In Third Round Of Reebok All-American

AUSTIN, Texas - Ole Miss men's tennis player James Shortall lost to Michal Chmela of LSU in the third round of main draw singles in the Reebok/ITA All-American Championships at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center, Saturday.

The two battled to a first set tiebreaker, with Chmela winning 7-4 in the breaker. That propelled him to take the second set 6-2 for the win. The two have met three times now with Shortall winning in the Rebels' dual match last season.

Shortall defeated Vladimir Pavicevic of UNLV in the first round and then Jose Sanchez of VCU in the second round.

The Rebels will now get ready to host the Mississippi Indoor Invitational Oct. 29-31.
