NASHVILLE, Tenn. ? Jen Talavera's goal with two minutes remaining in the game sealed a 3-1 victory for the Vanderbilt Commodores over the Ole Miss Rebels on a soggy Sunday afternoon in Nashville.

Ole Miss falls to 11-5 overall and 4-3 in the Southeastern Conference after the loss, while the Commodores improve to 6-9 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

"Vanderbilt is a quality program. We came after them in the second half, but made a few defensive mistakes that Vanderbilt was able to capitalize on," Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman said. "We've got to put this behind us and focus on our next match against Tennessee."

Ole Miss trailed 1-0 at halftime after Asta Helgadottir put the Commodores on the board in the 31st minute off a header.

Jennifer Soileau tied the game for Ole Miss at 1-1 with a goal from 23 yards out in the first five minutes of the second half.

The score remained 1-1 until Laura Koerner gave Vanderbilt a 2-1 advantage with a goal from 10 yards out that deflected off Ole Miss goalkeeper Birna Bjornsdottir.

Ole Miss will return to Oxford to take on the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m.
