Women's Golf Finishes 15th At Mercedes-Benz Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Ole Miss women's golf team placed 15th at the Mercedes-Benz Championships with a 315-326-324--965. Georgia took the title with a 54-hole composite score of 906, two strokes ahead of Duke.
UGA's Shauna Estes, who led the field after the first two rounds, captured the individual crown after defeating Wake Forest's Nuria Clau in a playoff. Estes fired a 70-71-76--217.
Robyn Rinaldo was the Lady Rebels' highest finisher. The senior from Dade City, Fla., placed in a tie for 29th with a 78-77-78--233. Kerrie Davis, a freshman from New Orleans, La., placed second on the team and 60th overall in her first collegiate event. Davis totaled a score of 79- 86-79--244.
Sophomore-transfer Elizabeth Hoffman of Kingwood, Texas finished 62nd with a 78-83-84-- 245, while junior Teresa Brown of Windermere, Fla, was 66th with an 80-83-83--246. Marci Kornegay, a junior from Savannah, Ga., shot a 91-83-86--260.
