Rebel Tennis Standout Reaches Semifinals At Southern Collegiates

ATHENS, Ga. - Ole Miss men's tennis freshman Alexander Hartman continues his stellar play, by advancing to the semifinals in Division I singles at the Southern Collegiate Championships at Dan Magill Tennis Complex, Friday.

Hartman downed Tom Dalby of UAB 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 16 in the morning and then dominated Pietro Demichelli from Stetson by the same score. Hartman improves to 10-1 on the year. In his first tournament, Hartman advanced all the way from the prequalifying at the National Clay Court Championships to the main draw round of 16.

In the semifinals, Hartman will face Paul Podbury of Tennessee Saturday. Semifinal action begins at 8:30 est.

The Southern Collegiate Championships features 150 players including some of the nation's best from several top-ranked top teams including Georgia, LSU, Duke, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee.
