OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team announced the signing of Teesha Ash, the 1999 Tennessee State Junior Champion, to a national letter-of-intent on Tuesday. Ash is currently a senior at Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, Tenn., and will be eligible for the 2000-2001 season.

A native of Ringgold, Ga., Ash placed second in the 1998 Tennessee State Junior Championships and won the 1999 by the largest margin of strokes in tournament history. She is also the 1999 Maxifli State Champion in addition to being a two-time Regional Champion.

"We're really excited she has chosen Ole Miss," said Lady Rebel head coach Keil Purdom. "We look for her to be a leader here and continue to help us move in the direction of success we have been heading the last few years."

The Lady Rebels finished their fall season with a pair top-five finishes in five tournaments. Ole Miss is next in action Feb. 25-27 at the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., as the team begins its run toward a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
