OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Marcus Hicks had a career-high 26 points and Rahim Lockhart recorded his second consecutive double-double to lead Mississippi to a 86-59 win Tuesday over McNeese State.
Ole Miss (2-0, 0-0) forward Hicks topped a previous best of 24 points last season against Louisville. Lockhart, who joins Hicks as the only two returning starters from last year's NCAA Tournament team, had 13 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
Ole Miss has won 27 consecutive non-conference games at home, the fifth longest streak in the nation. McNeese State, members of the Southland Conference, fell to 0-2.
McNeese State guard Demond Mallet led the Cowboys with 17 points, including seven of 16 from the field.
``Obviously Marcus and Rahim played well,'' Ole Miss coach Rod Barnes said. ``We're in the process of determining what things we are going to have to count on. We're able to count on Marcus and Rahim.''
