OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss junior midfielder Jennifer Soileau has been named to the 1999 First Team All-Southeastern Conference in soccer.
It marks the second consecutive year Soileau has earned first team All-SEC honors. Soileau was named to the first team in 1998 after scoring 32 points on nine goals and 14 assists.
Soileau joins goalkeeper Rachel Brown of Alabama as the only two players from the SEC West to earn first team honors this year.
This season, Soileau tallied 10 points on three goals and four assists in leading the Rebels to the SEC Western Division championship and the team's third straight appearance in the SEC Tournament.
"It's great to see her rewarded for efforts. She has been a valuable part of our success this season," Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman said. "She played a huge role in helping us win the SEC West and she is very deserving of the honor."
For her career, Soileau ranks third in Ole Miss history in points with 73, third in goals with 23 and second in assists with 27.
Soileau is only the second Rebel to be named to the All-SEC first team in soccer. Junior Sarah Wong earned first team honors as a freshman in 1997.
