Hartman Falls In ITA Regional

ATHENS, Ga. -- Ole Miss men's tennis player Alex Hartman was ousted in the fourth round of singles at the ITA Region III Championships Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

After defeating LSU's Ajay Ramaswami 6-3, 6-4 in the third round, Hartman fell to UAB's Martin Woisetschlaeger 6-1, 7-5. Rebel Martin Selin also failed to advance on Friday, falling to Tennessee's Paul Podbury 3-6,6-1,6-2 in the third round.

In doubles, Hartman and Fredrik Mellin lost in the second round to Georgia State's Mitja Pavlinic and Tadej Senk 8-6. The Rebels' other duo of Selin and Patrick Chucri also fell in the second round to Mississippi State's Matt Soto and Chris McDonald, 8-3.

Third round -- Paul Podbury (UT) def. Martin Selin (OM) 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, Alex Hartman (OM) def. Ajay Ramaswami (LSU) 6-3, 6-4.
Fourth round -- Martin Woisetschlaeger (UAB) def. Alex Hartman (UM) 6-1, 7-5.

DOUBLES
Second round -- Pavlinic/Senik (GSU) def. Hartman/Mellin (UM) 8-6, McDonald/Soto (MSU) def. Chucri/Selin (UM) 8-3.
