MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Marcus Hicks scored 21 points and Jason Flanigan added 18 points and eight assists as Ole Miss beat Alabama State 76-65 Wednesday night.
Rahim Lockhart added 12 points and 10 boards for the unbeaten Rebels (6-0).
Alabama State (1-2) got 21 points from Joey Ball and 13 from Tyrone Levett. The Hornets were outrebounded 36-27.
Ole Miss led 41-27 at halftime, shooting 58 percent from the floor. But the Rebels cooled off a bit in the second half, allowing Alabama State to stay in the game.
Neither team had much success in long-range shooting. Ole Miss was 2-of-9 from 3-point range and Alabama State 2-of-11.
