Jason Holmes Signs Men's Basketball Scholarship

OXFORD, Miss. -- Jason Holmes, a guard at Southwest Mississippi Community College, has signed a basketball scholarship with Ole Miss, it was announced Friday by Rebel head coach Rod Barnes.
"Jason is a very gifted athlete who can really shoot the basketball," Barnes said. "He can have an immediate impact for our team and should fill a great need for us, because he's such an exceptional shooter. We look forward to having him in our program."
Holmes, a 6-foot 5, 205-pound sophomore, averaged 17.9 points, six rebounds, and three assists at Southwest Community College.
He attended Tylertown High School before moving to Chicago for his senior season.
Ole Miss lost four seniors off its 1999 NCAA tournament team, including shooting guard Keith Carter, who led the Rebels in scoring with 16.4 points per game.
