OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 8 nationally-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team travels to Columbia, S.C., this weekend to face the 16th-ranked South Carolina Lady Gamecocks at 2:00 p.m. at the Maxcy Gregg Tennis Courts.

The Lady Rebels come into the match with a 14-4 overall record, 6-2 in the SEC. They are currently in third place in the SEC and moved up from 14th to No. 8 in the latest rankings released Tuesday.

Agnes Muzamel leads the Lady Rebels with a 21-9 overall record, 1-5 at No. 1 singles. She moved up one spot to No. 4 in the latest rankings and needs seven wins to become the all-time career singles leader at Ole Miss.

Freshman Alesya Ignatieva needs just one more win to become the fifth Lady Rebel to win 20 matches this year. She would join Muzamel, Celeste Frey, Ivona Mihailova and Mariana Eberle who have already won 20 or more matches this year.

South Carolina comes into the match with a 13-3 overall record, 4-3 in the SEC. They are coming off an 8-1 win over Clemson on Wednesday. The Lady Gamecocks are led by freshman standout Katarina Markovski, who is 11-4 in dual matches this season, 8-4 at No. 1 singles. She is ranked 76th in the nation.

The Lady Rebels defeated the Lady Gamecocks 6-1 last year in Oxford and 5-4 in Columbia two years ago.
