OXFORD -- The Ole Miss soccer team added two forwards and one defender to its list of 1999 signees.

The Rebels signed Courtney Biddle, a 5-foot-1 forward from Murraysville, Pa.; Megan Bowman, a 5-foot-6 midfield/forward from Atlanta, Ga., and Denise Rogers, a 5-foot-6 sweeper/defender from Monrovia, Md.

"This is a talented group of freshmen and they have the potential to contribute to our team right away," Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman said. "They have a strong work ethic and will fit right in with our system."

Biddle, a three-time all-section player, is the all-time leading scorer in Franklin Regional High School history and held a 3.2 grade point average.

"Courtney is a pure scorer. She is one of those players who is always in the right place at the right time and she is a great one-on-one player," Holeman said.

As a high school senior, Bowman scored seven goals and 14 assists in leading Brookwood High School to the 1998 AAAA State Championship in Georgia. Bowman was also named to the all-county team and earned a 3.86 GPA.

"Megan has great vision on the field and is a great passer. She is a very quick player with good one-on-one skills," Holeman said.

A two time all-state player in Maryland, Rogers also earned Mid-Maryland defensive player of the year honors as a junior in 1997.

"Denise is a very defensive minded player who is very athletic. She moves the ball up the field very well and is a good fit to our team," Holeman added.

Last season, the Ole Miss soccer team finished 9-7-2 overall and advanced to the Southeastern Conference Tournament for the second consecutive year.
