Lady Rebel Netters to Host Tennessee in SEC Match

OXFORD, Miss. The ninth-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team will host 12th-ranked Tennessee Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center in its first SEC home match of the year.

Ole Miss enters the match with a 7-2 overall record, 1-1 in the SEC. The Lady Rebels are coming off a 9-0 loss at No. 1 ranked Florida. They defeated Auburn 8-1 in their first SEC match. The Lady Rebels have not lost at home this year.

Tennessee is 9-3 overall, 1-0 in the SEC and heads to Starkville on Friday to play Mississippi State before coming to Oxford. They are coming off a 8-1 victory over North Carolina. In SEC play, the Lady Volunteers posted a 6-3 win against Arkansas. The Lady Volunteers are led by 17th-ranked Manisha Malhotra and Margie Lepsi. The two seniors are a potent one-two punch and also team together No. 1 doubles. They are ranked No. 8 in the nation in doubles.

The Lady Rebels are led by third-ranked Agnes Muzamel and 14th-ranked Ivona Mihailova. Muzamel is currently 6-4 at the top spot, while Mihailova owns a 6-4 record at No. 2 singles. All-American Courtenay Chapman has played well this spring, posting a 7-3 record at the third spot. Senior Martina Crha owns a 6-4 record at No. 4 singles. Ole Miss has won two in a row over the Lady Vols inlcuding a 5-4 decision in Knoxville last year. Tennessee led 4-2 in the match, but the Lady Rebels won all three doubles contests to come back and win the match.
