OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Lady Rebel soccer team will open its spring season schedule with a round-robin tournament on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium, which is located behind the Women's Multi-Sport Complex on Hathorn Road. The action begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with the Lady Rebels meeting Memphis. The second game will have Memphis playing Mississippi State at 1:45 p.m., with the final contest between the Lady Rebels and Bulldogs to start at 4:00 p.m. The Lady Rebels began their spring practices on Feb. 17.

The Lady Rebels return a lot of experience from last year's squad which posted an 11-9 overall mark and a 4-4 Southeastern Conference record. The team also advanced to the SEC Tournament last fall for the first time in the program's three-year history.

Leading the returnees are seniors Tammy Zegledi and Leah Rutledge, both of whom have started the last three seasons. Ole Miss also returns a talented freshman trio of Jennifer Soileau, Sarah Wong and Regan Scanlon. Wong, the team's second-leading scorer last season, was an All-SEC first team pick, while Soileau led the Lady Rebels with 31 points and 11 goals. Scanlon was Ole Miss' third-leading scorer with 22 points. Birna Bjornsdottir returns in goal for the Lady Rebels.
