OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Lady Rebel soccer team will continue its spring schedule on Sunday, Apr. 5 when they travel to Nashville, Tenn., to meet Vanderbilt and Kentucky in back-to-back games. The Lady Rebels will play the Commodores at 11:00 a.m., and then will meet the Wildcats at 12:30 p.m.

"This is a great opportunity for our team by playing these two games on Sunday," said Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman. "These are the two toughest games on our spring schedule. Kentucky and Vanderbilt both beat us last fall, but the only way we can improve is to play such a high caliber of competition. We have had a good week of training for this weekend so we will be ready. This will be a good experience for us."

Last fall, Vanderbilt defeated the Lady Rebels, 3-0, while Kentucky took a 2-1 decision over Ole Miss. Both games were played at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. On Mar. 21, Ole Miss got a small measure of revenge versus the Commodores, winning the Lady Rebel Six-Aside Tournament title with a 4-3 championship game win over Vanderbilt. Junior transfer Amaris Smith scored the game-winning goal with under seven minutes to play.

"Kentucky and Vanderbilt are great teams," Holeman said. "In the six-aside tournament, Vanderbilt was undefeated until they met us in the title game, and they may have taken us a little lightly. Our squad, however, put forth more effort in that win. Vanderbilt may be looking for a little revenge from that tournament loss, but knowing that should provide extra motivation for us."

Following this Sunday's action, the Lady Rebels will conclude their spring schedule on Apr. 18 with games versus Auburn, Alabama and Southern Mississippi in Montgomery, Ala.
