OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Keith Carter made a school-record eight 3-pointers and scored 28 points to lead Mississippi to its 28th consecutive home victory in a 111-50 win Tuesday over Prairie View.
The 61-point victory was the largest margin of victory in school history for the Rebels (10-3). Ole Miss beat Arkansas by 51 points (117-66) in 1973 and Prairie View by 51 (101-50) in 1991.
Carter hit 8-of-10 from 3-point range, including five straight in the first half as Ole Miss took a 16-0 lead five minutes into the game. Prairie View (1-9), which has never beaten Ole Miss in five previous meetings, shot just 23 percent in the first half.
The Rebels have won 43 of the last 44 home games. Ole Miss will play its conference opener against Southeastern Conference opponent Alabama. The Rebels' last loss at Tad Smith Coliseum was a 59-46 defeat by Alabama on Jan. 8, 1996.
The Rebels built their lead to 29-10 before putting together a 14-2 run. Carter hit his sixth 3-point shot and Jason Flanigan added a pair of baskets during the first-half run.
Ole Miss led 64-23 at the half.
Carter made his school-record shot with 18 minutes left in the second half to build the lead to 74-26.
Marcus Hicks scored 15 points and Darrian Brown had 12 for Ole Miss. Hunter Carpenter added 10 points for the Rebels.
