OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Marcus Hicks scored 14 of his 21 points in four-minute spurt late in the first half as Mississippi overcame a sluggish start and went on to beat West Alabama 101-68 on Monday night.

Ole Miss (7-1) had four turnovers and missed eight shots while West Alabama scored the game's first seven points.

West Alabama (4-4), an NCAA Division II team, maintained a 23-22 lead when Antoine Bivins hit a 15-foot jumper with 6:35 left in the first half. But that is when the Rebels finally took over.

Hicks scored his 14 first-half points, including two dunks and a three-point play, during a 23-6 run that gave Ole Miss a 48-31 halftime lead.

Ole Miss continued that pace after halftime and extended its school-record homecourt winning streak to 27 games. The Rebels have won 42 of their last 43 games at Tad Smith Coliseum.

Freshman Jason Harrison hit two free throws in the final 10 seconds to push Ole Miss over the 100-point mark for the second time in four games.

Jason Smith added 17 points, including a dunk with 6:51 left that put Ole Miss ahead 84-56. Jon Cantrell had 13 points and Keith Carter 11.
