LSU (10-9, 2-8) managed to cut Mississippi's lead to six, 45-39 with 12:25 left in the second half, but was swamped down the stretch.

LSU was unable to offset Mississippi's pressure man-to-man defense. The Tigers had 23 turnovers to Ole Miss's 6, including a 17-4 edge in the first half. Ole Miss scored 28 points off turnovers, the Tigers scored 2.

The Rebels also had 13 steals to LSU's 2.
