OXFORD, Miss. -- Regan Scanlon's goal at the 74:32 mark in the second half broke a 1-1 deadlock and gave the Ole Miss Lady Rebels' a 2-1 victory over the Arkansas Lady Backs in Fayetteville Friday night.

With the victory, Ole Miss improves to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the Southeastern Conference, while the Lady Backs drop to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the SEC.

"This was our most physical game of the season," Ole Miss head coach Steve Holeman said. "We were a little flat in the first half, but we made some adjustments at halftime and got the job done. It's great to get that first conference win under our belts."

Freshman Michaela Collins put Ole Miss on the board just before halftime with her second goal of the season. But, Arkansas answered with less than a minute to go before halftime to tie the game at 1-1.

Scanlon's goal was her second game-winner of the season and her seventh goal overall. In five games this year Scanlon has scored 17 points which leads the SEC.

The Lady Rebels travel to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers on Sunday at 2 p.m.
