Lady Rebels Take Fifth At Auburn Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. - Kim Tudor fired a final-round 71 to finish seventh and lead the Ole Miss women's golf team to fifth place at the Auburn Tiger-Derby Invitational.
Georgia, the defending National Champion, won the tournament for the second consecutive year with a 296-291-299--886, followed by Auburn at 904 and Tennessee at 913. The Lady Rebels shot a 310-308-301--919 in their first event of the 1999-2000 season.
With a 75-79-71--225, Tudor, a sophomore from Winter Garden, Fla., picked up her second career top 10 finish with the other coming at last year's SEC Championships, where she placed eighth. The 71 today was also the lowest single-round score of Tudor's Ole Miss career.
Senior Robyn Rinaldo, of Dade City, Fla., finished 13th with a 79-76-72--227 to earn her 19th career top 20 finish, while Marci Kornegay, a junior from Savannah, Ga., placed in the top 20 for the fifth time in her career with 76-76-77--229, good for 16th place.
Junior Teresa Brown ranked 46th for the Lady Rebels with a 81-78-81--240. Sophomore-transfer Elizabeth Hoffman and redshirt-freshman Allison Burrow both played in their first tournament at Ole Miss and placed 50th And 58th, respectively. Hoffman shot a 80-78-83--241, while Burrow posted a 83-81-83--247 competing as an individual.
Auburn's Kami Smith took the individual title with a 74-68-74--216 to finish at even par.
