Rebel Netter Loses In Third Round

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Ole Miss men's tennis player James Shortall lost his third- round match to Marko Cerenko of Duke in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, at the ITA All-American Championships Friday.

Shortall, preseason ranked No. 19 in the nation, had advanced to the round of 16 for the second year in a row. Cerenko has now defeated three top 20 players on his way to the quarterfinals.

The All-American Championships is the second leg of the collegiate grand slam and featured 16 of the top 20 singles players in the nation. The event is being held for the first time at the Lincoln Tennis Center, site of the 1996 Olympic tennis matches.
