Lady Rebel Netters Advance At All-American Tourney

OXFORD, Miss. - Julie DeRoo and Mira Radu advanced to the second round in doubles at the prestigious Riviera All-American Championships at the Suburban Country Club Thursday night. DeRoo lost her singles match.
DeRoo and Radu defeated the fourth-seeded team of Michelle Dasso and Becky Varnum from Notre Dame 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. They will face Ashley Hedberg and Jessica Roland of Texas A&M in the quarterfinals.
In singles, DeRoo lost in straight sets to Tulane's Anna Monhartova 7-5, 6-2. She faces Janet Bergman of Wake Forest in the consolation round.
