OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team hosts UAB Friday at 7 p.m. in the Rebels' final home game of the 2000 season. Ole Miss will be celebrating Senior Night Friday and honoring the most successful class - Jessica O'Neill, Regan Scanlon, Sara Schauberger, Jennifer Soileau and Sarah Wong - in school history.

Ole Miss (12-5-1, 5-3-1 SEC) is the newly crowned 2000 Southeastern Conference Western Division Champion. The Rebels tied Mississippi State, 0-0, in double overtime Wednesday in Starkville to secure the West title outright for the second consecutive year.

Ole Miss outshot MSU 17-10 for the game, and junior goalkeeper Melinda Smith saved seven shots in shutting out the Bulldogs. The Tacoma, Wash., native boasts 2.5 shutouts on the season.

The Rebels, who posted a winning conference record this season for the first time, will be the No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament, held Nov. 2-5 in Athens, Ga. Ole Miss will be making its fourth straight tournament appearance and second straight as the No. 2 seed.

UAB (3-13-2, 2-8-1 CUSA) has dropped three straight, including a 3-1 defeat at Saint Louis on Sunday. Junior Denise Peters and freshman Jill Knottek lead the Blazers this year with four goals apiece.
