Rebel Netter Wins Again At UT Fall Classic

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Ole Miss men's tennis player Kristofer Stahlberg won his third match in a row at the University of Tennessee Fall Classic Saturday, defeating Tennessee' Wade Orr in the nationally-ranked players draw.

Stahlberg, who on Friday defeated the nation's 20th ranked player, won the first set in a tiebreaker, and then went on to take a 7-6, 7-5 victory over Orr, who is one of Tennessee's freshmen. Stahlberg will play again Sunday.

In Flight A singles, sophomore Patrick Chucri got to the semifinals before losing to Patrick Gaughan of Furman 6-4, 6-4. In Flight B singles third round action, senior David Blackburn lost to Mark Maddox 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles, Ole Miss lost two matches and won one. In the nationally-ranked draw, Stahlberg and freshman Conor Casey dropped an 8-3 decision to Mattias Kogan and M. Villigan of Tulane. In Flight A doubles, Blackburn and Chucri fell to Cantrell and Kirts from Louisville 8-5. Mason Cousins and Jim Jacobs defeated Vargas and Dimitrov of Boston College 9-7 before losing to Jack Hu and Lahie of Memphis 8-3 in Flight B doubles.
