Ole Miss Head Coach Rod Barnes:

"I want to give Louisiana-Monroe credit. They played a good game. They are a young team, and sometimes things do not go your way. We played well at times tonight. We have a lot of things to improve on. I think our kids can and will improve, but we have a lot of work to do before we play Oklahoma on Saturday."
"I was not pleased that we didn't take advantage of the opportunities we had to put the game away tonight. I think that was due to the youth of this team. I will give our guys some credit, though. They did seem to be in the right place some of the time."
"I am not unhappy with the win. You cannot ever be unhappy with a win in college athletics. It is our goal to win and we accomplished our goal, but I always expect more. We need to play smarter, harder and more together to be ready for Saturday."

"I was not looking toward Saturday. I was focused on tonight's game. We have a bunch of young guys who may not have been completely focused. It seems like we play to the level of our opponents. We play big against big-time competition, and we slow down against the other teams. We are going to pick it up tomorrow because we have a big game ahead of us."

"We tried to come out and play tough defense so we could get our offense going. That's the way we get some easy baskets on offense.

"I just try to do whatever it takes to win. If it is playing tough defense, fighting for rebounds or just running the offense, I will do whatever my teams needs me to do.
Louisiana-Monroe head coach Mike Vining:
"Defensively, Ole Miss did a good job, and offensively, they were very aggressive. They killed us."

"Arkansas was quicker. LSU had big players and was physical. But, LSU does not have the bench that Ole Miss has. They didn't play a lot of players."

"Ole Miss is a very good team, and has the potential to be even better. I thought they played a great game tonight, and we played a good game as well. In the future, if Ole Miss can play as well as they are capable of, they can be a very good SEC team."

"We played a pretty good game tonight -- better than our last two games. Ole Miss' defense did a good job with their half-court pressure, and we turned the ball over too much. On offense, Ole Miss did whatever they wanted to. They got a lot of easy baskets and made a lot of foul shots."
