Ole Miss To Host Christian Brothers In Exhibition Play Saturday

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's basketball squad will play its second exhibition game Saturday, Nov. 11 versus Christian Brothers at Tad Smith Coliseum. Game time is 1:00 p.m. (CT).

General admission tickets for the exhibition contest are $5, and Ole Miss students will be admitted free with a student ID.

In the Rebels' first exhibition game Monday, David Sanders scored a game-high 22 points, including 10-of-11 from the free throw line, to lead five Ole Miss players in double figures as the Rebels defeated Spirit Express, 99-74.

Sanders, a junior college transfer guard, led a balanced Ole Miss attack that featured 16 points from freshman guard Aaron Harper and 11 from freshman forward Justin Reed. Veteran guards Jason Harrison and Jason Flanigan added 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Ole Miss shot 50.7 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the free throw line versus Spirit Express.

Christian Brothers, an NCAA Division II school, posted a 12-14 overall record and a 4-8 mark in the Gulf South Conference last season. The Buccaneers, under the direction of second-year head coach Mike Nienaber, returns three starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's squad. Senior forward Rodney Chapman is the team's top returning scorer with a 14.2 average from a year ago.

The Rebels will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff in their regular-season opener Nov. 18 at Tad Smith Coliseum. Game time for the season opener is 12:00 p.m. (CT).
