Women's Golf In Eighth At Lady Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Teresa Brown is tied for 16th after day one and leading the Ole Miss women's golf team at the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational. In their spring opener, the Lady Rebels shot a first-round 316 to tie for eighth after 18 holes at the University of Florida Golf Course.
Auburn fired a 300 Friday to lead the field at the three-day, 54-hole tournament. Alabama is second entering Saturday's play with a 305, followed by the host Lady Gators with a 306.
Brown, a junior from Windermere, Fla., shot a 40-37--77 to sit five-over-par after the first round. Brown is vying for her fourth career top 20 finish and her first of the 1999-2000 season.
Elizabeth Hoffman, a sophomore from Kingwood, Texas, is tied for 29th after scoring a 43-36--79 on Friday. Junior Marci Kornegay and senior Robyn Rinaldo are both a stroke back with an 80, while freshman Bernadette Luse carded an 84.
Second-round action begins at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, with the Invitational finishing up on Sunday.
