OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team travels to Sarasota, Fla. on Monday and Tuesday for the USF Waterlefe Invitational, held at the 5,909-yard, par 72 Waterlefe Golf and River Club.
The tournament is hosted by the University of South Florida and boasts and field that includes Arkansas-Little Rock, Campbell, College of Charleston, Central Florida, Georgia State, Iowa, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Northwestern, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, Southern Miss and Vanderbilt.
The Waterlefe marks a return to action for the Lady Rebels, who last competed Feb. 25- 27 at the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational. Ole Miss placed ninth in the event led by Teresa Brown.
Brown, a junior from Windermere, Fla., turned in a career-best tournament in Gainesville, tying for sixth with a 77-73-74--224. It was the first top ten finish for Brown as a Lady Rebel.
She will be looking to continue her hot play at the Waterlefe and will be joined by junior Marci Kornegay, sophomore Elizabeth Hoffman, freshman Bernadette Luse and senior Robyn Rinaldo. Redshirt-freshman Roiann Boisture will be competing as individual in Sarasota.
