Lady Rebel Golfers Finish 11th At SEC Championships

ROGERS, Ark. - The Ole Miss women's golf team shot a final-round 329 Sunday to place 11th at the SEC Championships. The Lady Rebels ended with a 321-318-329--968 at the Pinnacle Country Club.

Robyn Rinaldo, who was named All-SEC honorable mention today, led Ole Miss and tied for 12th with a 74-79-78--231. It is the fifth top 20 finish of the year for the senior from Dade City, Fla., and the 23rd of her career. It is also the fourth consecutive year that Rinaldo has earned All-SEC honors.

Also for the Lady Rebels, junior Teresa Brown fired a 77-81-79--237 to rank 26th, while fellow junior Marci Kornegay carded an 81-77-85--243 to tie for 37th. Kerrie Davis finished with a 259, and Elizabeth Hoffman closed with a 262.

Auburn, led by individual medalist freshman Danielle Downey (224), took the SEC crown with a 306-306-307--919, holding off a last day charge by Louisiana State. The LSU Lady Tigers turned in the lowest round of the event with a 298, but came up two strokes short of the championship. It is Auburn's first SEC title since 1996.
