OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss women's rifle team has added three new shooters to the 2000-2001 roster, including a pair of state champions.

Katie Trickett of Woburn, Mass., and Kristin Parker of Ft. Mill, S.C., both competed in the National Junior Olympics in February and will be incoming freshman for the Lady Rebels next year. Trickett was the 2000 Massachusetts state rifle champion, while Parker was the state champion in South Carolina last year.

Also joining the Lady Rebels is junior-transfer Misty Hendrix. A native of Glen, Miss., Hendrix has competed as an amateur over the past two years in addition to being one of the top academic students at Northeast Community College.

"We have definitely strengthened our lineup with these signees," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "These additions make us even more competitive at the national level, and will help us move our program in the direction we want to take it."
