Women's Soccer Drops Oklahoma State, 3-1

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Ole Miss soccer team earned its first win of the season Friday with a 3-1 win over Oklahoma State in a tournament at the LSU Sports Complex.
Regan Scanlon netted a pair of goals for the Rebels to lift them to 1-2 on the season. The senior from Pittsford, N.Y., opened the scoring at the 21:15 mark with a blast from 25 yards out. Freshman Amy Sample earned her first career assist on the shot. Scanlon later secured the win with her second goal in the 78th minute.
Senior Jennifer Soileau scored Ole Miss' other goal from six yards away at 64:07 into the game. The Cowgirls picked up a goal 13 minutes later from Kelly McKay, but still fell to 1-2 on the year.
Freshman goalkeeper Brittany Gillespie started at goal and totaled four saves for the Rebels, who remain in Baton Rouge for a Sunday face-off with Texas Tech at 11 a.m. (CST).
