Ole Miss Women's Soccer Wins Fourth Straight

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Ole Miss soccer team defeated Southwest Missouri State, 4-2, Friday to earn its fourth straight win. The Rebels (4-2) continue their play in the KU Credit Union Jayhawk Soccer Classic Saturday when they face off with host Kansas (2-3) at 4 p.m. (CST).
Jennifer Soileau totaled two goals and an assist to lead the Rebels over SMS. She put Ole Miss ahead 2-0 in the 15th minute, assisted by Regan Scanlon, and increased the lead to three in the 22nd minute, with Bridget Brooks picking up the assist. A senior midfielder from Baton Rouge, La., Soileau tops the team in total points this season with nine and is tied for the team-lead in goals with three.
Erin Cooper put the Rebels on the board at the 1:00 minute mark, with assists from Soileau and Anna Sanders. Ole Miss outshot SMS 10-4 in the first half and after Kristy Ward scored for the Bears in the 40th minute, the Rebels held a 3-1 advantage at the break
Southwest cut the lead to one with Katie DeCarlo?s goal at the 68:14 mark, but later shot one into their own goal to finish the scoring. SMS falls to 3-5 on the year.
