Ole Miss Soccer Hosts Non-Conference Foes This Weekend

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss soccer team puts its five-game winning streak on the line at home this weekend against a pair of non-conference opponents. The Rebels host Northern Arizona Friday at 7 p.m. and New Mexico Sunday at 1.
Ole Miss (5-2) is coming off its second tournament win of the season, taking first place at the KU Jayhawk Classic last weekend in Overland Park, Kan. The Rebels picked up a 4-2 victory over Southwest Missouri State, and a 4-3 double-overtime win over host Kansas.
Senior midfielder Jennifer Soileau was named SEC Player of the Week on Monday. The Baton Rouge, La., native posted three goals and four assists last weekend and earned KU Classic MVP honors. Regan Scanlon, Kristin Chapman, Jessica O'Neill and Bridget Brooks were named to the All-Tournament team.
Northern Arizona is off to a 2-7 mark this season and have been outshot 176-74. Senior midfielder Erin Rummens has provided some offense for the Lumberjacks, leading the team with four goals. Forward Holly Jones boasts three goals, and defender Kelly Flowers has three assists.
On Sunday, Ole Miss will be looking for its win against New Mexico. The Lobos shut out the Rebels 2-0 last year in Albuquerque and won 2-1 in 1997.
UNM (4-4) has gone into overtime in its last three games and won two, including a 2-1 victory over Evansville on Monday. Senior defender Jayme Dieringer has recorded seven shots and two goals in the last two matches. She leads the Lobos with three goals, two assists and eight points this season.
