Lady Rebels Finish Third At The Lady Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Lady Rebel golf team finished third at the Sixth Annual Lady Rebel Intercollegiate in Oxford. The Lady Rebels had a three-day score of 926 (305-312- 309), eight strokes behind tournament champion Central Florida. Arkansas State finished second with a three-day score of 923 (316-309-298), five strokes behind the tournament champion Central Florida. Central Florida had a three-day score of 918 (306-306-306).

Tanja Arnold of Central Florida won the individual championship with a score of 220 (75-73-72) in a playoff with Arkansas State's Amanda Beeler (75-76-69). Beeler also carded a tournament record with a final round score of 69.

Teresa Brown finished third with a three-day score of 226 (76-77-73) to lead the Lady Rebels. Elizabeth Hoffman finished sixth overall with a three-day score of 231 (72-80-79). Bernadette Luse finshed 13th with a score of 235 (77-80-78) and Kerrie Davis finshed 14th with a score of 236 (80-75-81). Lori Cate finished 22nd with a score of 241 (80-82-79).

Marci Kornegay, who played as a individual, finished 17th overall with a score of 239 (79-77-83). Also playing individually for Ole Miss were Brooke Smith, who had a score of 254 (80-87-87) and Teesha Ash, who had a score of 267 (91-89-87). Roiann Boisture finished with a three-day total of 269 (94-86-89).

The Lady Rebels will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., on Oct 13-15 to participate in the Mercedes-Benz Women's Collegiate Championships.
