BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the third time in five weeks, an Ole Miss Rebel has earned Southeastern Conference Soccer Player of the Week honors. Sophomore forward Bridget Brooks was named this week's SEC Player of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league office.

A native of Shreveport, La., Brooks posted back-to-back two-goal matches in Ole Miss' two victories last weekend. She netted the game-winner against both Northern Arizona and New Mexico to help the Rebels set a new school record for consecutive wins with seven straight. Brooks boasts six career multiple-goal games.

She leads the team in goals this season with seven and is second in points with 15. As a freshman in 1999, Brooks posted 16 goals to top the squad and rank third in the SEC. It was the second-most goals in a season ever by a Rebel.

Midfielder Jennifer Soileau was last week's SEC Player of the Week, and forward Regan Scanlon earned the accolade on Sept. 4. Ole Miss (7-2) opens conference play this weekend against a pair of Western Division foes. The Rebels host LSU Friday at 7 p.m. and Arkansas Sunday at 1 p.m.
