Lady Rebel Golfers Open 2000-2001 Season

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team kicks off its season Friday at the Auburn Tiger Derby Invitational at The Auburn University Club at Yarbourgh Farms. The 54- hole tournament will conclude Sunday.
Ole Miss will be joined by Alabama, No. 5 Auburn, Central Florida, Florida State, Georgia State, LSU, Mississippi State, North Carolina-Wilmington, South Florida, Tulane, and Vanderbilt.
Leading the way for the Lady Rebels will be Marci Kornegay and Teresa Brown. Brown, a senior from Windermere, Fla., led the team with a 79.20 stroke average a year ago. Kornegay, a senior from Savannah, Ga., was second on the team with a 80.13 average. The Lady Rebels return six letterwinners from last years squad.
Ole Miss Head Coach Keil Purdom enters her 10th season at Ole Miss and will be joined by Assistant Coach Meghan Bolger, who joined the staff in August.
