OXFORD, Miss.-- After the holiday break, the Ole Miss rifle team gets back into action this Saturday when they travel to El Paso, Texas to compete in the Southwest Invitational.

The Lady Rebels are coming off a first place finish at the Wolf Creek Invitational on Nov. 18, 2000. They are also coming off a season-best score of 1500 in air rifle at Jacksonville State on Nov. 19.

"We are facing some tough competition this weekend," said Ole Miss rifle coach Valerie Boothe. "We have had to get back in a system with the break. I feel like our team is ready to compete and pick up where we left off before the Christmas break."

Katie Trickett, a freshman from Woburn, Mass., leads Ole Miss in both air rifle and smallbore. She is averaging 382.4 in air rifle and 1127.7 in smallbore.

The Lady Rebels have set new records this season in both air rifle and smallbore. They set a new school record of 1500 in air rifle at the Walsh Invitational on Nov.3. Ole Miss tied that record at the Wolf Creek Invitational on Nov. 18. They also set a new record in smallbore with a score of 4446 at the Buckeye Invitational on Nov. 5.

Following this weekends competition, Ole Miss will compete at the Tiger Invitational in Memphis, Tenn., on Jan. 20.
