Ole Miss Rifle Takes Tiger Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-- The Ole Miss women's rifle team made history this weekend when they took first place at the Tiger Invitational, hosted by the University of Memphis. They scored 1492 in air rifle to take the tournament.

"This is a tremendous win for our program," said Ole Miss coach Valerie Boothe. "Our team was very focused this weekend and performed well. This is an important win in our program."

Misty Ballard, who scored a 377 and led the Lady Rebels, finished third overall. Katie Trickett scored a 376 and finished fifth overall. Kristin Parker finished sixth overall with a 373. Maranda Stockton fired a 366 and finished eighth overall. Samantha Ball, who competed as an individual, scored a 371.

Ole Miss will be back in action next weekend when they travel to UT-Martin on Friday. They will then travel to Murray, Ky., to participate in the Withrow Invitational on Saturday.
