Ole Miss Rifle Fares Well at Withrow Invitational

MURRAY, Ky. - The Ole Miss women's rifle team fired a 1493 in air rifle and a 4417 in smallbore at the Withrow Invitational, hosted by Murray State on Saturday.

"I think we competed better today than we did at UT-Martin on Friday," said Ole Miss rifle coach Valerie Boothe. "I feel after today's competition that we are ready for the NCAA Sectional."

Katie Trickett led the Lady Rebels in air rifle with a 375. Misty Ballard fired a 374 and Maranda Stockton scored a 373. Kristin Parker scored a 371 and Samantha Ball, who competed as an individual fired a 362.

In smallbore, Trickett led Ole Miss with an 1124. Ballard fired an 1114 and Parker scored a career-best 1111. Stockton scored a 1066 in the competition.

The Lady Rebels will be back in action on Feb. 11, when they compete at the NCAA Sectional in Murray, Ky.
