Ole Miss Rifle competes at UTM Invitational

MARTIN, Tenn. - The Ole Miss women's rifle team scored a 1495 in air rifle and a 4375 in smallbore at the UT-Martin Invitational on Friday.
"I thought we competed well in this match," said Ole Miss rifle coach Valerie Boothe. "I felt we could have performed better in smallbore, but I think we will do better in the future."
Leading the way for the Lady Rebels in air rifle was Katie Trickett, who fired a 380. Misty Ballard shot a 373 and Kristin Parker scored a 372. Maranda Stockton fired a 370.
In smallbore, Ballard led the Lady Rebels with an 1115. Parker scored an 1110 and Trickett fired an 1105. Stockton shot a 1040 and Samantha Ball, who competed as an individual, fired a 1057.
The Lady Rebels will be back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Murray, Ky., to compete in the Withrow Invitational, hosted by Murray State.
