Ole Miss Soccer Players Earn Scholar All-America Honors

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss soccer players Jennifer Soileau and Jessica O'Neill have been named to the 2000 NSCAA/adidas Women's College Scholar Athlete All-America second team. The senior duo helped lead the Rebels to back-to-back SEC West titles the last two seasons.

Soileau, a midfielder from Baton Rouge, La., closed out her Rebel career in the fall as the school?s all-time leading scorer with 99 career total points. A 2000 All-Central Region first team pick by both the NSCAA and Soccer Buzz, Soileau earned SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades the past three seasons and boasts a 3.44 GPA in Exercise Science.

O'Neill, a defender from Vancouver, British Columbia, has started every game over the last three years for Ole Miss. She is also a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection and carries a 3.35 in Communicative Disorders.

In addition, fellow seniors Regan Scanlon and Sarah Wong were chosen to the NSCAA Women's Scholar Athlete South Region second team. Scanlon, a forward from Pittsford, N.Y., boasts a 3.62 GPA in Sociology, and Wong, a midfielder from Vancouver, has a 3.64 in International Business.
