Ole Miss Rifle Team Claims Ole Miss Invitational Title

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss rifle team claimed first place in the Ole Miss Invitational with a score of 1488. The win marks the first of the season for the Rebels.
Ole Miss was lead by senior Misty Ballard who shot a 379 for the meet. The mark was the second best of the invitational as Ballard finished behind top shooter Sarah Hibbard of Birmingham Southern College who notched a 386.
Ole Miss saw steady shooting from all of its competitors as three finished in the top 15 f the meet. Sophomore Maranda Stockton finished third behind Ballard with a score of 377, while sophomore Kristin Parker notched a 370 to take eighth.
Freshman walk-on Megan Roberts scored a 362 to take the No. 14 spot for the Rebels. The Oxford, Miss., native stepped up big for Ole Miss as the final competition on the roster to help seal the win for the Rebels.
