Goalkeeper Melinda Smith knew the Ole Miss soccer team counted on her leadership.

Smith, the team's lone senior, has enjoyed this responsibility as a leader.

"It is definitely fun to be out here with all the girls and become a leader," Smith said. "When I first came out here, there was no way I would think I would become one of the leaders."
