Rebel Netters To Begin Competing In All-American Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - Members of the Ole Miss men's tennis team will begin competing in the pre-qualifying tournament at the All-American Championships Friday at the Lincoln Tennis Center in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Paul Ciorascu, Patrick Chucri and Jim Jacobs will be representing the Rebels. Eight players from the pre-qualifying tournament will advance to the qualifying tournament which begins on Tuesday.

Ciorascu, currently 4-2 on the season, will face Ted Burghardt of San Diego at Noon on Friday. Chucri, competing in his first tournament of the year, will meet Daniel Prokes of Norfolk State in the first round at 11:30 a.m. Jacobs plays Clemson's Sander Koning at 1:30 p.m.

Junior Alex Hartman, ranked No. 6 in the nation, and senior Kristofer Stahlberg, ranked No. 25, are already in the main draw, which begins on Oct. 11.
