ITA All-American Championships/Pre-Qualifying Rounds
Rebel Netters Advance At All-American Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - Paul Ciorascu and Patrick Chucri of the Ole Miss men's tennis team won two matches Friday to advance to the third round in the pre-qualifying tournament at the ITA All-American Championships.
In the first round, Ciorascu downed San Diego's Ted Burghdart 6-3, 6-2 and then in the second round, he dominated Justin Hunter (Colorado) 6-2, 6-1 to improve to 6-2 on the year. He will face Daniel Wajnberg of TCU in the third round at 8 a.m.
Chucri defeated John Davis of North Carolina State 6-4, 6-1 in his first match of the year. He then downed Dan Swan of Purdue 6-3, 6-4 in the second round setting up a third-round matchup against Jamie Sahara of Northwestern.
The pre-qualifying tournament consists of 256 singles players (and 128 doubles teams) from 62 schools playing for eight spots in the qualifying tournaments which begins on Tuesday. The ITA Men's All-American Championships main draw takes place Oct. 11-14.
