Rebel Netters Lose Tough Matches At All-American Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - Paul Ciorascu and Patrick Chucri of the Ole Miss men's tennis team were eliminated in third round action of the pre-qualifying tournament at the ITA All-American Championships Saturday.
Ciorascu dropped a hard-fought first-set tiebreaker 7-6(5) to TCU's Daniel Wajnberg and then lost the second set 6-4. With two wins on the opening day of competition, Ciorascu is now 6-3 on the season.
Chucri, competing in his first tournament of the year, fell to Jamie Sahara of Northwestern, in two hotly-contested sets, 7-5, 7-6(6). He finished 2-1 in the tournament, with victories in Friday's first two rounds.
The premier hard court event of the fall collegiate season, the ITA All-American Championships feature the top players in NCAA Division I tennis. This year's event is
highlighted by 14 of the top 20 players in the country. The All-American Main Draw runs Oct. 11-14.
Alex Hartman, preseason ranked No. 6 in the nation, and Kristofer Stahlberg, ranked No. 25, will be competing for the Rebels in the main draw, beginning Thursday.
