OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Justin Reed had 17 points and eight rebounds and Derrick Allen scored a career-high 13 as Mississippi defeated Louisiana-Monroe 78-43 Monday night.
The Rebels (5-2) bounced back for a surprising one-point loss to George Mason on Saturday that snapped the nation's second-longest winning streak against non-conference competition at 44.
Brian Lubeck led Louisiana-Monroe (3-2) with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Reed and Allen, both 6-foot-8, controlled the paint and combined to shoot 10-for-16 from the field. Ole Miss outrebounded Louisiana-Monroe 41-33.
The Rebels made 50 percent of their shots while holding the Indians to 28 percent, including 5-for-23 from 3-point range.
Ole Miss jumped out to an 18-4 lead in the first 12 minutes, held a 39-18 edge at the half and was never challenged.
Allen was 7-for-8 from the free-throw line and grabbed six rebounds. Jason Harrison scored 11 points, including 3-for-4 on 3-pointers, and had five assists. David Sanders added 10 points and six rebounds.
The Rebels have won two straight against Louisian-Monroe.
